Disability Programs and Training provides the following services in a streamlined process.

Upon receiving referral, we contact clients within 48 hours and initiate programs within one week. Our solutions focus on the principles below.

Community Inclusion

Ensure participation in a variety of community based events.

Self-Advocacy Programs

Lobby on behalf of the community or individuals to obtain public services locally, through the state and nationally and those that may have a specific need while teaching the tools necessary to be your own best self-advocate in different areas of life. It all starts with knowing your rights by educating the community on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and more.

Employment Services

DPT offers the resources and training needed to improve employability skills. Clients will be able to participate in workshops on resume writing, career exploration, and interviewing skills. Assistance will be provided for those receiving Social Security Administration (SSA), and needing to sign up for the Ticket to Work Program, and other related benefits counseling.

Independent Living Skills

We teach the skills necessary to thrive with minimal assistance from others using different teaching techniques such as:

– Group Setting

– One – on – One

– Workshops

– Assistive Technology



Disability Programs & Training will support those with disabilities providing needed services, programs, and training resources for those who need assistance in becoming independent and self-sufficient. The programs/services/training for this division will include activities that integrate people with disabilities into the community such as social activities, Money Smart, assistance with benefits/employment counseling and providing the resources needed so that the individuals, regardless of disability, can acquire the education or training they need to become competitive in the workforce.
How : The clients needs will be assessed as follows:
  • Referrals will be received via phone call or e-mail.
  • Phone Calls and emails will be responded within 48 hours.
  • Appointments will be made within 5-7 days (including weekends).
  • 1 Hour allocated to the client for initial intake.
Client fills out an Intake which includes
-General contact information
– Photo Release Form
– Sign Release of Information in the event we need medical records for purposes of qualifying for benefits or other related services
– Review and sign goal sheets accordingly
– Develop a plan for meeting that specific goal
– Gather the required documents
– Request missing documents
– Generally speaking client has 1 year to meet their goal
– Keep track of their progress through out the year
– Contact client at least one a month
– Should I not be able to assist them, I then refer them to someone who can
